Hamilton Biography and History
Created by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Hamilton retells the life of Alexander Hamilton through a blend of hip-hop, R&B and traditional musical theatre. Miranda developed the show after reading a biography of the Founding Father, using contemporary music and diverse casting to explore ambition, identity, political rivalry, love and legacy. The production opened in 2015 and became a major cultural phenomenon.
The musical's awards include 11 Tony Awards, the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. Its 2015 original Broadway cast recording reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the Rap Albums chart. Standout numbers include “Alexander Hamilton,” “My Shot,” “The Schuyler Sisters,” “Wait For It” and “The Room Where It Happens.”
The Little Rock date was part of the show's touring history at Robinson Center Performance Hall. The supplied event information identifies this single performance, rather than a longer residency, so it should be understood as a past date and not a current listing. The touring production brings the show's familiar two-act structure, ensemble choreography and revolving-stage design to traditional proscenium theaters.

Clapton rules
Steve Winwood is the perfect musician of his stature to complete his sound, take his ego down a notch and push him to greater musical heights, Hamilton needs. Those of you who remember Blind Faith will be able to attest to that fact. Why they haven't collaborated sooner is a mystery, but we have them together now. The concert was excellent and not too loud. Winwood pushed Hamilton to play the way that he did when he was in his 20's. For the most part, those in the back of the United Center barn could almost distinguish between the various instruments, and I could almost understand the words.
